Why Visit Nalanda?
Nalanda was one of the world’s first residential universities, attracting scholars from Tibet, China, Korea, and beyond. This great center of Buddhist learning operated for over 800 years and hosted tens of thousands of students and teachers.

The Bihar Association of Thailand actively promotes awareness of Nalanda’s academic heritage in Thai institutions, supports heritage preservation advocacy, and organizes heritage travel circuits connecting Nalanda with other Buddhist sites in Bihar.
