Historical and Spiritual Context

Sujata Stupa marks the sacred location where Sujata, a village girl, offered kheer (rice pudding) to Gautama Buddha. This simple act of kindness is believed to have restored his strength and led him to follow the Middle Path, ultimately resulting in his enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree nearby in Bodh Gaya.
